Set in the heart of Monmouthshire, not only with plenty of local walks and cycling opportunities, but also an ideal place from which to explore the local market towns, historic sites, castles and abbeys – ideal for walking holidays. The world famous Cwmcarn Mountain cycling site is 30 minutes away. The Roman town of Caerleon is 20 minutes away; Abergavenny and the Brecon Beacons are an approximate 30 minute drive; the long distance Offa’s Dyke path and new Brecon Beacon routes are easily accessible. Monmouth, 10 miles, the Wye Valley, Forest of Dean and the black mountains are easily reached, offering a wealth of border castles. Chepstow Racecourse is within 20 minutes drive and within 30 minutes drive golfers have 8 spectacular courses to choose from including the Celtic Manor venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup.


South Wales gliding club is 2 miles away.


Our outdoor swimming pool is open for use through the summer and is heated to 30˚C. Swimmers are able to use the pool as long as they take full responsibility for their own safely and for that of their party, especially any children.


The picturesque town of Usk is 3 miles away and an abundance of characterful pubs and restaurants are dotted about in the small towns and villages around.


The bright lights of Cardiff, home of Dr Who and Torchwood, the Millennium Stadium and the Wales Millennium Centre, are only a 40 minute drive away and in less than an hour you can visit Blaenavon World Heritage site, Big Pit coalmine, Castel Coch to name but a few famous attractions. Anyone that wants to see the golden sands of the wonderful South Wales seaside resorts, they are within 2 hours drive.
